Patience

  #FASFriday #Fridaythe13th

It’s FAS Friday, and Friday the 13th! As I type this from a secure and safe location, isolated from any potential chainsaw wielding, and hockey mask wearing serial killers, I am reminded of one helpful tip. Should you ever find yourself being hunted down by the aforementioned character, REMEMBER! You need not run faster than he, only slightly faster than the other people around you. You’re Welcome.

Well... What a week! And an exciting week at that. You know that new full length album that we are working on? Well.... We have finished all of the recording for it! Some of us spent the majority of the week back up in Atlanta to lay down the finishing touches on the album. This only makes us more and more thrilled to be able to share it with you! As the music goes into the final mixing and mastering phases, we will be keeping you up to speed on the progress. If you are aching for some new music to satiate your senses, don’t forget the free download of our studio sessions that will not be featured on the album. We just can't put everything we wrote on the project, but we still want you to have them! They are available for you here! http://noisetrade.com/foraseasonmusic/studio-demos  As far as the rest of the actual album.... well... you’ll just have to practice a little bit of Patience.

Patience-

“It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience”  - Julius Caesar

That quote by the emperor himself, concisely tells the hard truth of patience. People in extreme circumstances are sometimes willing to give up everything in a moment of immediate glory than to endure the arduous task of a waiting season. We all struggle with this. Patience is an especially hard quality to exercise in a world where I can have something at the click of a button. And with minimal waiting time with Amazon Prime Shipping Perks! (all rights reserved). Not only that, but I don’t even have to use my own money in many cases. “Oh... your’e 3k short to get that new T.V.?.... No problem just sign here.” It’s so easy.

How about that relationship? For me personally, I just knew I was ready to be married 5 years ago. I mean, what was God waiting for? As soon as he decides to get his act together and hook me up with that super hot choir girl...(which he did in his own time).. I can get on with my life. Little did I know at that time, that He was asking for me to be patient, while he continued to mold me. I can look back now and say, “Wow! I totally wasn’t ready.” God had so much work to do in my own life, before I could be responsible for someone else's.

Why is it so hard to trust God’s scheduling in the affairs of our lives? We see him come through time and time again, yet we like to take matters into our own hands. That is one of my biggest challenges personally. I tend to over-think situations, overanalyze them, and then take my own calculated actions. But if I focused on cultivating the fruit of Patience, I would be able to see God’s faithfulness come through more often than I do.

The Hebrew word for Patience is “qavah”. It literally means to expect. When we wait for God to move, are we just sitting idly, or are we literally expecting and preparing for him to move in his right time with the best results. In Greek, the word “hypomeno” means to persevere, and to endure bravely and calmly. Let’s keep those definitions in mind when it comes to Patience. It’s more than just waiting. It’s an act of courage and abiding.

Romans 5:4 And perseverance produces character, and character produces hope.
